Julián Alvarez

Biography

Julian Alvarez is the creator of over a hundred non-commercial works in the fields of video and film, and is part of the first generation of video artists in Spain. His artistic career has been recognised through retrospectives and monographic studies both nationally and internationally. In 1991, he was awarded Premio Nacional de Videografía de Catalunya. He has also made a significant contribution as a contributor and analyst to specialist publications, as well as a speaker at conferences and seminars. In the academic sphere, he served as director of the School of Video, Film, Television, 3D and Multimedia at IDEP in Barcelona, exerting a notable influence on the training of several generations of creators.
